Our Work

Supporting people with MS since 1964.

Whilst we can’t cure MS, we work hard to provide ways to help our service users and to limit the impact the condition has on their lives.

Physiotherapy

Our physiotherapy services are tailored to meet the specific needs of individuals with MS. Our skilled physiotherapist will work with you to improve mobility, manage symptoms, and enhance overall well-being using tailored exercise and physical activity plans. The Pashler Physiotherapy Centre is one of only a handful of places in the UK to have an AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill which we hope will be a game changer for some of our service users.

Complementary Therapies

At MSRRF, we believe in holistic well-being. Our complementary therapies are designed to complement traditional medical treatments for MS. These therapies include options such as massage and reflexology, relaxation classes, stress reduction, and symptom management. Learn more about how our complementary therapies can contribute to your overall health and comfort on our website.

Fitness & Exercise Programs

Staying active is crucial for individuals with MS. Our fitness and exercise programs are designed to promote physical fitness, improve balance, enhance muscle strength and gain confidence. Programs can also improve overall mental wellbeing. We offer a variety of exercise options, ensuring that everyone can find a program that suits their needs and abilities. Discover how our fitness and exercise initiatives can contribute to your overall health.

Group Visits

MSRRF can provide services to small groups of users, who may not be able to attend due to transport costs, locations or have no means of transport. As a group they can benefit from an exercise and complementary therapy session, in a social environment, over a morning or afternoon. We can also provide tea, coffee and cakes. MS Active are an established group from Easington, County Durham who visit us and really benefit from our services.

Grants

Nationally MS Research and Relief Fund offer grants for aids, adaptations, equipment and services to people affected by MS.

Recent grant awards have helped people in a wide range of ways and not just in the purchase of the item. MSRRF have assisted people in continuing their employment through equipment purchases and assistance with mobility vehicles. Grants have helped people continue to live in their family homes with the grant being put towards stair lifts and wet rooms. Grant provision allows people to live independent lives with items such as mobility scooters, rise and recliner chairs and eating aids.

In the last few years alone we have been able to help support people from Penzance to John O’Groats and hundreds of towns, cities and villages in between.

MSRRF is a small charity who offer grants to top-up other grant awards from likeminded charities or local government funding so as such, awards may not cover the full cost requested. Applications can be submitted by individuals with MS, partners, carers, family members or advocates in the UK. Email grants@msrrf.org.uk for more information.

Legacies

Give a gift for life

Remembering MSRRF in your Will is a way of ensuring we can continue the work we do; supporting people affected by MS.

As well as donations and fundraising leaving a legacy to MSRRF will enable us to continue to provide direct financial support to improve the quality of life of individuals and their families; to continue to research into the causes and relief of MS symptoms; and to facilitate a range of therapies.

Legacies form a large part of our income and help us carry out our work supporting people affected by MS and their carers.

Your legacy really can be a “Gift for Life.” Every gift that is left to us, no matter what size, makes a big difference to the lives of people with MS.

What will your legacy fund?

Legacies form a large part of our income and help us carry out our work supporting people affected by MS and their carers. We receive no statutory funding, so rely entirely on fundraising, grant funding and donations. To find out about leaving a legacy email legacies@msrrf.org.uk
